When it comes to explaining why Woodruff lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Sadie Burnette. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Means, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Broome got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dakota Mitchell out in front who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals. Anaya Wofford was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Woodruff's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Broome, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodruff will play host again and welcome the Yellowjackets, where tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Broome, they will be playing at home against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Academy has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 23.
