Basketball Recap: Lee County Comes Up Short

Lee County played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-27 defeat at the hands of the Pinecrest Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-21 back in January.

Pinecrest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aniya McGregor, who posted 19 points. The match was McGregor's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Moore, who had 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

Lee County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Pinecrest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10.

Lee County has already played their next contest, a 69-20 loss against Union Pines on the 5th. As for Pinecrest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-48 win against Scotland on the 7th.
