Basketball Game Preview: West Columbus Vikings vs. South Columbus Stallions

The West Columbus Vikings will challenge the South Columbus Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Friday, West Columbus ended up a good deal behind Whiteville and lost 63-45. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, South Columbus was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 52-46 to East Columbus. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Gators are ranked 519th).

South Columbus' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for West Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
