Volleyball Game Preview: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Olympian Eagles + How To Watch

The Mira Mesa Marauders will face off against the Olympian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

Mira Mesa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Oceanside by a score of 3-1.

While Mira Mesa might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Oceanside scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21.

Mira Mesa's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bailey McBride, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Melanie Warner, who had five digs and one assist. That's the most digs McBride has posted since October 1st.

They weren't the only good servers: Mira Mesa was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Olympian posted their closest victory since September 19th on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past Central 3-2.

Olympian took Central into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 27-25, 25-12, 23-25, 15-10.

Olympian's win bumped their record up to 20-15. As for Mira Mesa, their victory bumped their record up to 22-14.

Mira Mesa couldn't quite get it done against Olympian in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 2-0. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
