Mooresville has gone 8-1 against Hopewell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will face off against the Titans at 5:30 p.m.

Mooresville fell victim to Hickory Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Ragin' Bulls. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hopewell gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Mallard Creek as they made off with a 14-3 victory. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by eight runs or more this season.

Kaylin Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Addison Pless was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Hopewell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mallard Creek only posted an OBP of .273.

Hopewell is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mooresville, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Everything went Mooresville's way against Hopewell when the teams last played back in April of 2021, as Mooresville made off with a 20-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
