Baseball Game Preview: Granite City Warriors vs. Collinsville Kahoks

Granite City is 1-9 against Collinsville since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Kahoks at 12:00 p.m. The last three games Granite City has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Granite City and St. Louis HomeSchool P, and Granite City kept the tradition alive. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Patriots 3-2 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.

Granite City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tuff Bradley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. Another was Nathan Hopper, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Collinsville came up short against Belleville West on Thursday and fell 7-4. The Kahoks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Granite City, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Granite City suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Collinsville when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
