Softball Preview: Burke County Bears vs. Josey Eagles        
        
		
             On Thursday Burke County will have to hit the road after four straight games at home. They will venture away from home to  take on the Josey Eagles  at 5:00  p.m. Burke County will be strutting in after a  victory while Josey will be coming in after a  loss.
 Burke County is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have all season. They blew past Butler 29-1 on Tuesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six  runs or more this season.
  Malia Washington made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career- in  hits. Washington was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing four bases while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news, Burke County got a  massive  performance out of  Braylin Fare, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Fare is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games she's  played dating back to last season.  Maddox Russell was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Burke County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .484. That's a new  trend for them: their average  batting average was 0% earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 38%.
 Meanwhile, Josey entered their  contest against Thomson  on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Josey lost  19-5 to Thomson. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their  match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
 Burke County is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine games,  which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record  this season. As for Josey, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
