Tashaun Gray commands the offense for a Tornadoes win

Recap: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Sacred Heart Crusaders

The Purvis Tornadoes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against Sacred Heart as Purvis made off with a 71-48 win. Considering Purvis has won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Purvis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tashaun Gray , who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 2 assists. That's the first time this season that Gray scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judd Gipson, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.

Purvis' win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Sacred Heart, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purvis won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Marion at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. West Marion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Purvis is ranked 84th). Sacred Heart will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Stanislaus at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th.
