Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders vs. Mead Hall Episcopal School Panthers

Two dominant forwards in Nasir Void and Braylon Fuller are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Mead Hall Episcopal School Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Davis Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

If Mead Hall Episcopal School heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Jefferson Davis Academy took over last week. Jefferson Davis Academy walked away with a 59-52 victory over Colleton Prep Academy on Monday.

Jefferson Davis Academy had a senior duo take command as Void almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds and Colson Loadholt posted 20 points along with eight boards and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Void a new career-high in assists (five). Corbin Perry was another key player, putting up eight points.

Jefferson Davis Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Mead Hall Episcopal School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Holly Hill Academy.

Jefferson Davis Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Mead Hall Episcopal School, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Jefferson Davis Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Mead Hall Episcopal School when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson Davis Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
