Basketball Recap: Aliyia Terry and Adrianna Hudson Secure Win for Springfield

Springfield's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 31-27 victory over the Northeast Eagles. The Yellow Jackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Springfield was led to victory by Adrianna Hudson and Aliyia Terry. Hudson posted five points and 12 boards, while Terry scored eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Hudson is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Shemauria Pope also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Springfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Qimara Summers, who earned 21 points and three blocks. The matchup was Summers' third in a row with at least ten points. Tianna Charles was another key player, putting up two points and eight rebounds.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Northeast, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield has already played their next matchup (against Kirkwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Northeast has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Kenwood.
