Basketball Game Preview: Canton South Wildcats vs. Springfield Spartans

The Canton South Wildcats will square off against the Springfield Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Canton South will be strutting in after a victory while Springfield will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Canton South beat Tuslaw 53-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 70-44 to Ravenna. The Spartans were down 57-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Canton South's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Canton South strolled past Springfield when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 66-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canton South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
