Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Eagles vs. Sayre Redskins

The Mountain View Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Sayre Redskins at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

Mountain View is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Old Forge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 55-35. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, Sayre entered their tilt with Tioga on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 72-56 victory over the Tigers. While the Redskins didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sayre pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
