Volleyball Recap: Lanphier Takes a Loss

Lanphier lost against Mt. Pulaski back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hilltoppers. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lanphier was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23.

Miley Frakes paced Lanphier's offense, picking up nine kills. Frakes were helped by Elizabeth Powell and Brooke Gibbons, who contributed five assists each. Frakes was also a major player on defense: she and Angel Price shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Lanphier's loss dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Mt. Pulaski, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Lanphier will head out to square off against Decatur Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Pulaski, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Midwest Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
