Baseball Recap: Coosa Valley Academy Takes a Loss

Coosa Valley Academy lost against Bessemer Academy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Coosa Valley Academy fell just short of Bessemer Academy by a score of 4-3. Coosa Valley Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brett Hackett was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Coosa Valley Academy is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-16 otherwise. Hackett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jake McArthur made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Coosa Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Bessemer Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Coosa Valley Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 loss against Lowndes Academy on the 8th. Bessemer Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
