Volleyball Game Preview: Northville Mustangs vs. Forest Hills Northern Huskies

The Northville Mustangs will take on the Forest Hills Northern Huskies on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Forest Hills Northern will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Northville extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Plymouth.

Northville was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-8, 25-21.

Northville can attribute much of their success to Allyson Leutheuser, who had five digs and two aces. Those five digs gave Leutheuser a new career-high. Anoushka Jayabal also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Northville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matchups.

Forest Hills Northern not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Ottawa Hills as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Northville's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Forest Hills Northern, their win bumped their record up to 24-7-1.

Northville beat Forest Hills Northern 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
