Softball Recap: Cupertino Beats Santa Clara for Their Fourth Straight Win

Cupertino won the last time they faced Santa Clara and things went their way on Friday too. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Bruins. Considering the Pioneers have won five games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Maddison See, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Roman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Cupertino kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was the fourth in a row for Cupertino, bringing their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Clara, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Cupertino and Santa Clara will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Pioneers see the field they'll take on Prospect at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Santa Clara, their break will end when they face Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
