Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newton walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Pana Panthers on Monday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering Newton have won 11 matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Brock Anderson and Luke Farley scored all eight of Newton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 39 goals.

The win (which was Newton's third in a row) raised their record to 16-4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three matchups. As for Pana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17-1 record this season.

Newton will face off against Teutopolis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
