Soccer Game Preview: Hazleton Area vs. Williamsport

The Hazleton Area Cougars will face off against the Williamsport Millionaires at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hazleton Area's offense. They fell 2-0 to Scranton Prep on Wednesday. Hazleton Area have struggled against Scranton Prep recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Williamsport had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out Mifflinburg 2-1 on Monday. Williamsport haven't had any issues with Mifflinburg recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Hazleton Area beat Williamsport by a goal in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
