Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. Skyline Eagles

For the second straight game, Brighton will face off against Skyline. The Bengals will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Brighton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Skyline will come in with three straight victories.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Brighton and Skyline have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Bengals took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Bengals have lost by exactly three runs.

For Skyline's part, Mason Papadakis and Abe Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Papadakis got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Wilson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance also gave Papadakis a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Wyatt Crowell, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
