Basketball Recap: Affton Cougars vs. Windsor Owls
The Affton Cougars entered their tilt with the Windsor Owls with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Affton walked away with a 37-25 victory over the Owls on Friday. This was a revenge matchup for Affton, as the team was forced to settle for a 59-49 defeat when these two played last Thursday.
Affton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna M daughtry, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Affton pushed their record up to 8-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Affton will stay at home for another game and welcome the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on February 5th. Riverview Gardens has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 19. As for Windsor, they will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Perryville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
