Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Beats Lakewood Presbyterian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Providence Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 41-18 margin over the Lakewood Presbyterian Knights. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Providence Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Piper McIlrath out in front who went 9 of 18 en route to 21 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave McIlrath a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Daniels, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Providence Academy's record now sits at 8-1. As for Lakewood Presbyterian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Providence Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-30 victory against Shelton on the 9th. As for Lakewood Presbyterian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-17 defeat against Faith Lutheran on the 9th.
