Recap: King Panthers vs. Channelview Falcons
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the King Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Channelview 70-21 on the road. King might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 36 points or more this season.
Darius Clark-James was his usual excellent self, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 224 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. King also got help from LeJerrick Clark who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.
Channelview's loss came despite strong showings from Traveon Jackson and Tyrone Scyrus. Jackson rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown, while Scyrus rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown. Jackson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
The win makes it two in a row for King and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Channelview, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
King will head out on the road to face off against Clear Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Falls will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Channelview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
