Soccer Game Preview: Sage Creek vs. El Cajon Valley

The Sage Creek Bobcats are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the El Cajon Valley Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sage Creek came up short against West Hills on Monday, falling 5-2. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wolf Pack: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, El Cajon Valley was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They lost 4-0 to Ramona. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 610th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 275th).

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2-1. As for El Cajon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-2.

Sage Creek was able to grind out a solid win over El Cajon Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2018, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sage Creek since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
