Softball Recap: Bullitt East Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bullitt East won against Ballard on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Chargers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Fern Creek Tigers an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Chargers have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Alivia Cooper, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Katlyn McDonald also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Bullitt East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fern Creek only posted a batting average of .316.

The win (which was Bullitt East's fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fern Creek, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Looking ahead, Bullitt East will square off against Pleasure Ridge Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fern Creek, they will take on South Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
