NCSSM: Durham took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Durham Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Unicorns narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cavaliers 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Unicorns.

NCSSM: Durham's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Kitchen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

NCSSM: Durham's record now sits at 3-4. As for Durham Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, NCSSM: Durham will face off against Triangle Math & Science Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.56 runs per game on average), something the Unicorns will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Durham Academy, they will challenge Thales Academy Rolesville at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
