After a string of six wins, East Surry's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to the North Wilkes Vikings. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-44 back in December of 2024.

East Surry's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for North Wilkes, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

East Surry will head out to challenge North Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Wilkes has already played their next matchup (against Alleghany), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
