Baseball Game Preview: Durham Academy Cavaliers vs. Carrboro Jaguars

The Durham Academy Cavaliers will venture away from home to face off against the Carrboro Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durham Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Tuesday, Durham Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Ravenscroft and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Carrboro lost 18-5 to Southeast Alamance on Wednesday.

Max Trojanowski was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Evan Stowe was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Carrboro's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Durham Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Durham Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Carrboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Durham Academy skirted past Carrboro 7-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Durham Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
