Centralia won the last time they faced Carbondale and things went their way on Thursday too. The Orphans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Terriers. Winning may never get old, but the Orphans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Centralia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Centralia's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Carbondale, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Centralia will be taking part in a tournament against Highland at 8:00 a.m. on the 11th. As for Carbondale, they will head out to square off against Anna-Jonesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
