Softball Game Preview: Mansfield Lions vs. Bakersfield Lions

Mansfield will head out to challenge Bakersfield at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Mansfield has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield duked it out with Seymour on Wednesday. The Lions came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-4.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield made easy work of Winona on Wednesday and carried off a 20-1 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

The victory got Bakersfield back to even at 9-9. As for Mansfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Mansfield couldn't quite get it done against Bakersfield in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 16-13. Can Mansfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
