Volleyball Preview: Great Bridge Wildcats vs. Indian River Braves
After both having extra time off, the Great Bridge Wildcats and the Indian River Braves will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Wednesday, Great Bridge didn't have quite enough to beat Grassfield and fell 3-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Great Bridge actually scored more points across those five sets (102-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 20-25, 15-7.
Meanwhile, Indian River entered their tilt with Cape Henry Collegiate on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Dolphins by a score of 2-0.
Indian River never let Cape Henry Collegiate on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23.
Great Bridge now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Indian River, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
