Soccer Game Preview: Washington-Wilkes vs. Athens Christian

The Washington-Wilkes Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Athens Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington-Wilkes has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 18.

On Tuesday, Washington-Wilkes came up short against Lincoln County and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Athens Christian made sure to put some goals up on the board against Greene County on Monday. They blew past the Tigers 6-0. The game marked Athens Christian's most dominant win of the season.

They hit Greene County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Presley Hembree (2), Claire Wood (2), Ruth Banjoko, and Kaiya Smoot.

Washington-Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Athens Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
