Basketball Recap: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Blountstown Tigers
Wewahitchka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 60-17 loss at the hands of the Blountstown Tigers. The Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-11.
Blountstown found their leader in sophomore Cyianna Smith, who went 16 of 21 en route to 34 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jalynn Copeland, who posted two points in addition to eight assists, six steals, and five boards.
Wewahitchka's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Blountstown, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Port St. Joe the next time they take the court. Blountstown will host Port St. Joe at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Wewahitchka will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
