Basketball Recap: Northridge Academy Comes Up Short

Northridge Academy played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the AGBU Titans and fell 73-31. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 992nd, while the Titans are ranked 225th).

Despite the defeat, Northridge Academy had strong showings from Devarion Kelly, who posted six points and ten rebounds, and Mathew Flores, who had four points. That's the most boards Kelly has posted since back in November of 2024. Christian Perea also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Northridge Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for AGBU, their record is now 21-5.

Northridge Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-49 victory against East Valley on the 5th. As for AGBU, they have also already played their next contest, a 57-56 win against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica on the 4th.
