Basketball Recap: Traverse City HomeSchool Bulldogs vs. Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs
This season hasn't been kind to the Traverse City HomeSchool Bulldogs, who are still winless after their sixth match. They fell 36-27 to Grand Traverse Academy on Thursday. Traverse City HomeSchool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Weston Kinney, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Matthew Kinney was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
Traverse City HomeSchool dropped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.2 points per game. As for Grand Traverse Academy, their victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-15.
Traverse City HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
