Soccer Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lufkin Panthers. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marshall's record is now 2-8-1. As for Lufkin, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.

Looking ahead, Marshall will host Whitehouse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitehouse's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Marshall's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lufkin, they are taking a road trip to take on Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
