Basketball Recap: Park City Comes Up Short

Park City was the 73-43 winner over Jordan when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Park City Miners took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jordan Beetdiggers on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Miners have lost by exactly nine points.

When it comes to explaining why Park City lost, don't look at Luke Rice. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Rice a new career-high in steals (four).

Holden Warnick was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds for Jordan. With that strong performance, Warnick is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Logan Lockhart, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Park City is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Jordan, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Park City will be playing in front of their home fans against Cottonwood at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Cottonwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Park City likes a good challenge. As for Jordan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-51 victory against Summit Academy on the 11th.
