Baseball Recap: Yough Extends Winning Streak to Three

Yough extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 13-8. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Brownsville Falcons 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted against the Falcons since March 24, 2016.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Burkett, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Yough's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

As for Brownsville, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered against Yough since March 24, 2016.

On Brownsville's side, Jeremiah McDonald put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.
