Softball Recap: Dunellen Comes Up Short

Dunellen couldn't beat Metuchen on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Destroyers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 17-7. The Destroyers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Kaity Garcia made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Dunellen has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season. As for Metuchen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Coming up, Dunellen will square off against Somerville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Metuchen, they are taking a road trip to take on Highland Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
