Basketball Recap: Manning Comes Up Short

Manning lost against Crestwood back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Monarchs fell 63-55 to the Knights. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Manning lost, don't look at Lovell Stevenson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Stevenson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Lovon Stevenson, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Manning's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Crestwood, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Manning is taking a road trip to face off against Scott's Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crestwood, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Sumter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Gamecocks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
