Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Hill Lions vs. Beach Channel Dolphins

After both having extra time off, the Richmond Hill Lions and the Beach Channel Dolphins will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beach Channel took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Richmond Hill, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Richmond Hill turned things around against Jamaica last Thursday. They came out on top against the Beavers by a score of 66-54.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Beach Channel's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Epic South an easy 74-49 win. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Epic South are ranked 60th).

Beach Channel now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Richmond Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Richmond Hill didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Beach Channel in their previous meeting back in November, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richmond Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
