Basketball Recap: Omaha Comes Up Short

Omaha lost against Jasper back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Omaha Eagles took a blow against the Jasper Pirates, falling 90-43. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Pirates are ranked 85th).

Omaha dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jasper, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha will welcome Mount Judea at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Omaha is facing Mount Judea at the right time seeing as Mount Judea is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Jasper has already played their next match (against Deer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
