Recap: Round Rock Westwood Warriors vs. Stony Point Tigers
Even though The Round Rock Westwood Warriors have not done well against the Stony Point Tigers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Round Rock Westwood blew past Stony Point, posting a 49-20 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Round Rock Westwood, who have now won four matches by 29 points or more so far this season.
Demani Stewart got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 125 yards and four touchdowns. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Marquis Murry also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Round Rock Westwood's victory was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Cedar Ridge and 2-6 Austin (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.1% over those games). As for Stony Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Round Rock Westwood will take on Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stony Point, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against McNeil at 7:00 p.m.
