Softball Recap: Richland Center Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Richland Center's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dodgeville Dodgers a 1-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Dodgers back in April, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

The result came thanks to Kyree Fischer's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Richland Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ebony McCorkle, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that McCorkle has hit this season.

Richland Center is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Dodgeville, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
