Volleyball Recap: Mount Miguel Matadors vs. Valhalla Norsemen
Mount Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valhalla Norsemen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Matadors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 9-25, 25-18.
Alex Cano paced Mount Miguel's offense, picking up five kills. Cano got some help from Gael Barajas and his ten assists. Cano was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.
Valhalla found their leader in sophomore Dylan Dobmeier, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Dobmeier a new career-high.
Mount Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Valhalla, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
