Volleyball Recap: Mount Miguel Comes Up Short

Mount Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valhalla Norsemen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Matadors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 9-25, 25-18.

Alex Cano paced Mount Miguel's offense, picking up five kills. Cano got some help from Gael Barajas and his ten assists. Cano was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Valhalla found their leader in sophomore Dylan Dobmeier, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Dobmeier a new career-high.

Mount Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Valhalla, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Miguel will challenge Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Valhalla, they will square off against West Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
