Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Pocahontas

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pocahontas walked away with it. They blew past the Southside Southerners 3-0 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Redskins sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

While Pocahontas won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.

It was another big night for Kenzie Ogden, who had ten digs, five kills, and three aces. Those five kills gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacalyn Chester, who had 12 digs, two blocks, and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Pocahontas was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.

Pocahontas' win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Southside, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

As of now, neither Pocahontas nor the Southerners have any future games scheduled.
