Newsome had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over the Bloomingdale Bulls on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Leading Newsome to victory were Jaikim Haggans and Noah Guenther. Haggans rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, while Guenther threw for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Haggans wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Newsome was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Newsome wouldn't let Bloomingdale keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Tre Curatelli, Malik Hassoun, and Jayden Milton-Caban picked up one apiece.

Although Bloomingdale took the loss, they still got scores from Jaekwon Mills and Preston Beckham.

Newsome will look to defend their home field on Friday against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. Newsome is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. As for Bloomingdale, they will head out to take on Blake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
