Baseball Recap: Palmyra Takes a Loss

If Palmyra was riding high fresh off their 18-7 takedown of Bowling Green last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 10-4 to the Macon Tigers on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Palmyra saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryant Horstmeier, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The Panthers are 2-1 when Horstmeier posts three or more hits, but 1-5 otherwise. Logan Kroeger was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Palmyra's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-6. As for Macon, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmyra will host Mendon Unity at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Macon, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hallsville at 5:00 p.m.
