Baseball Game Preview: Owensboro Catholic Aces vs. Naperville Central Redhawks

The Owensboro Catholic Aces will face off against the Naperville Central Redhawks at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The last five games Owensboro Catholic has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Owensboro Catholic's victory against Greenwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Owensboro Catholic sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Greenwood on Thursday.

Myles Grant looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Barrett Evans, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Christopher Burns, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Naperville Central came up short against Hinsdale Central on Wednesday, falling 14-5.

Owensboro Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Naperville Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
