Buckingham strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Amherst County Lancers by a score of 4-1. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly three runs.

Kayne Wooten spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Buckingham saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Walter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Buckingham pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Amherst County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
