Basketball Game Preview: Shaw Raiders vs. Kendrick Cherokees

The Shaw Raiders will square off against the Kendrick Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Last Saturday, Shaw humbled Jordan with a 56-23 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Red Jackets: they've now won nine in a row.

Shaw's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quishyi Walcott, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten steals. That's the most steals Walcott has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Shipp, who went 6 of 15 to rack up 18 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Kendrick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Carver, falling 81-6. The Cherokees were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-1.

Shaw's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Kendrick, their loss dropped their record down to 0-22.

Everything went Shaw's way against Kendrick when the teams last played on Tuesday, as Shaw made off with a 50-29 win. Will Shaw repeat their success, or does Kendrick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
